High chairs

Whilst having a secret latte in Costa the other day as my baby snoozed in the buggy, I overheard a group of first time mum’s chatting (very loudly, over their babies gurgles!) about which would be the best high chair to buy for their little one. As a mum myself and part of the My Mummy and Me team I was interested to know what was top of the high chair charts and couldn’t help listening in.

Tripp Trapp ChairThese new mums were unsure as to whether to go for the Stokke Tripp Trapp type chair which grows with your baby and can be converted into a seat. Alternatively, Mamas & Papas apparently have some very comfortable cushioned chairs more akin to a very cosy armchair!

Bruin high chairs come highly recommended so I overheard and John Lewis sell very trendy egg shaped pods which will match your Louis Ghost chairs beautifully!

The main thing they all agreed on was that you can also get some fantastic second hand bargains which can be cleaned up to look as good as new. It appears that even the most fashion conscious new mothers are becoming savvy with large purchases and realising that the second hand market has a bountiful supply of good quality bargains.

We’ve had our Tripp Trapp chair for more than 10 years now and is still in use for nearly everyone in the family. Initially quite expensive to buy, but worth it in the long run; if you ever find a second-hand one for sale, snap it up quick!
