re-use
We are all pretty familiar with the 3 R’s - Reduce, Re-use and Recycle. High profile TV campaigns and council newsletters keep on reminding us of the importance of recycling and on the whole it is making an impression on most of us.
Personally I’ve found it easier to recycle my glass, paper, etc. as there is a home collection service or I can take my recycling down to my local supermarket where there are recycling bins; however when it comes to getting rid of a bouncy chair or toys my child no longer plays with, I found that there are not that many places you can take this sort of ‘stuff’.
Often baby and children’s toys and equipment can still be in really good condition but your child has simply outgrown them so it seems such a pity to get rid of them especially because you often spent a fair amount of money on them, so most of us end up storing them in the loft until they are either forgotten or thrown out when you move or spring-clean.
With My Mummy and Me I’m hoping to promote that when you make a purchase you are not just getting an item at a reduced cost because it is no longer new but more importantly you are getting to re-use the item and by doing so you are also doing that bit more to help our environment.
These are all small steps to help reduce the amount of waste we generate but each one counts.
Thank you for using My Mummy and Me.
